Chennai Super Kings lost their second game by 16 runs after failing to chase down a big target of 217 runs in 20 overs. The skipper MS Dhoni is receiving a lot of criticism from critics as he came out to bat at number 7 and failed to accelerate right from the start.
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen criticised Dhoni's decision to not promote himself up the order against Rajasthan Royals
"It's not about experiments, saying 'oh it's early on in the tournament'. Let me tell you, T20 cricket can bite you very, very quickly. You can end up losing five games on the go very quickly and then you can end up thinking 'oh my goodness, are we actually going to get into the finals?'. I am not buying into this nonsense," said Pietersen on a post-match show on Star Sports.
Pietersen however, believed the result of the match could well have been different had the CSK captain batted higher up the order.
