Khushbu Sundar Quits Congress, Joins BJP

Popular actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar has joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (October 12). She joined the party in the presence of several BJP leaders at the BJP headquarters in the national capital, Delhi. BJP leader Sambit Patra presented the party candidature by covering Khushbu with an amber scarf.
"If the nation has to move forward, then we need somebody like PM Modi to take country in right direction," Kushboo said after joining BJP.
Khushbu, in her resignation letter, thanked Sonia for the opportunity given to her to serve as the national spokesperson of the Congress party.
Khushbu worked for the DMK during its tenure in power in 2010. Four years later (2014) she left the party and joined the Congress in the presence of Sonia Gandhi.
On the other hand, the BJP leaders are of the view that the party will be further strengthened in Tamil Nadu with the arrival of Khushbu. It is said that she will contest from a key position in the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
