Former skipper King Kohli who had played 99 Test matches so far had stepped onto the field with a lot of expectations to play his landmark 100th Test century. Fans were also allowed to enter the stadium to see the Run Machine play the game. Virat Kohli had not disappointed his fans and added a unique record to his name.

Virat Kohli had joined the elite list of Indian players who had reached the 8,000 runs mark in the longest format of the game. At a personal score of 38, Virat Kohli reached the milestone and became the sixth Indian player to reach the milestone.

With this, Virat Kohli made a spot in the elite list of legendary players Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, and dashing batsman Virender Sehwag. God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with more than 15k runs.

While fans are happy with Virat adding one more record to his name, the quest and wait for his century continues. Virat Kohli lost his wicket for 45 runs. Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Embuldeniya got the big fish.

Indian cricket fans have been waiting to see Virat Kohli reach the magical three figures. Sadly, their wait continues. Virat Kohli made a century back in 2019. When the Bangladesh team toured India, Kohli made the ton and since then no century came from his bat.

As Virat Kohli is playing his landmark Test match, the BCCI had decided to permit the fans to watch the match. King Kohli was presented with the special cap by head coach Rahul Dravid following the tradition in the team.

Former captain and serving head coach Rahul Dravid gave a heartfelt speech about Kohli and praised him to the sky for the level he is at present. Tracing the journey of Virat, Dravid spoke highly about him.

Virat Kohli, who is a happy man receiving the special memento from Dravid shared his happiness with his wife Anushka Sharma by kissing her. Later, the power couple posed to the camera. Kohli said that the next generation should take a leaf out of this from him.
