I'm The King Not A Kingmaker
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 April 2018 6:26 AM GMTKarnataka elections are generating curiosity among the common people. As the poll date is nearing, media reports are hinting a hung assembly based on the pre-poll surveys. But Janata Dal (S) party Karnataka president HD Kumaraswamy is saying otherwise. He said that he is not a kingmaker but he will emerge as a king after the elections. He said that the people are blessing him to be the king of the state. He exuded confidence that his party will achieve a full majority in the May 12 elections. He said that winning 113 seats is his goal.
He said that JD(S) will win in 97-105 seats as per the present estimates and his party is seriously trying to win the other seats. He said that they may fall short of seven-eight seats for the majority but they are trying to win those seats as well. He said that people lost faith in Congress and BJP governments. He accepted that keeping away from power for a period of ten years had been tough for the party survival. He confidently said that there is no chance of hung assembly. He alleged that BJP candidate who is set to fight Siddaramayya has escaped from the poll fray because of an internal agreement.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party(SP), Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) are contesting separately. It is known that both parties worked together in UP elections to stop BJP from achieving power. SP spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary revealed that there is no agreement between their parties in the other states. He said that his party is willing to work with secular parties. It is known that BSP is working with JD(S) and BSP chief Mayawati is attending rallies with Deve Gowda. The rallies will be held in Belagavi, Bidar on May 5& 6. On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav's election campaign is yet to be finalised for his party candidates in Karnataka.
