Kisan Credit Cards To Benefit The Farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a saturation drive to distribute the Kisan Credit Cards(KCC) to all the beneficiaries under the PM-KISAN Scheme in Chitrakoot of Uttar Pradesh.
The scheme was initially launched in 1998 with an aim to provide short-term formal credit to the farmers to help them to boost the agriculture sector.
Around 25 lakh beneficiaries across the country have been provided the KCC and to provide KCC over 2,000 bank branches have given the task to provide KCC to the farmers.
Owner cultivators, as well as tenant farmers, can avail loans on these KCCs to meet their agricultural needs at attractive rates of interest. Kisan Credit Card(KCC) cards were offered to the farmers by country’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI)
