A day after the dissolution of the assembly, know who is the most sought after politician in Telangana state? KCR? No!! Uttam Kumar Reddy? No. Dr Lakshman of the BJP? No? it is an old man who taught political science in Osmania University and his name is Prof. Kodandaram.
Yes. Kodandaram is now being wooed by all major political parties like the BJP and the Congress. Kodandaram, on his own, may not win even a single seat. But, having Kodandaram on one's side would be a big political add-on. Kodandaram was among the most prominent intellectual faces of the Telangana movement and travelled across the length and breadth of the state. He has considerable hold in parts of North Telangana. He is also seen as a person who did not aspire for any post of power after Telangana became a reality. His presence would be a nuisance for KCR and his speeches would certainly prick the TRS boss. The marginal vote that he has could prove very important in close contests
The Congress has been holding talks with him and if sources are to be believed, even BJP chief Amit Shah is in direct touch with him. The BJP is ready to give him eight seats. A source close to Kodandaram has confirmed that Amit Shaw is indeed in touch with the prof.
So, the professor is much in demand and could launch a furious campaign against KCR anytime soon.
