He not only have to compromise on the number of seats TJS has to contest in the Assembly Polls but also gave up his preferred constituency.
Prof Kodandaram contemplated on contesting from Jangaon Assembly Seat on behalf of Grand Alliance. Congress Party agreed to allot him this segment as part of the seat sharing. However, Former Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah mounted pressure on the Congress High Command by reaching New Delhi after his name went missing in the first list of 65 candidates. Citing that he had been loyal to the party for the past 35 years, The Senior Leader cautioned Party Leadership conveyed ignoring a BC Leader like him to accommodate a Reddy Candidate would send wrong indications to the public.
Kodandaram agreed to give up the Jangaon Seat after coming to know about the helplessness of the Congress Party. At the same time, He made it clear that the National Party have the responsibility to accommodate him a constituency in which he could emerge victorious.
