Special Status For AP Impossible: Kodandaram
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 April 2018 7:42 AM GMTTRS and Telangana Congress took a stand favorable to Andhra Pradesh when it comes to Special Category Status. Lakhs of Andhra Settlers in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Districts have a key role to play in 2019 Elections. Only because of them TDP managed to show its presence in 2014 Polls.
KCR offered support to Special Category Status keeping the settlers in mind. He is even not ruling out alliance with Telangana TDP in 2019. Even Nizamabad MP Kavitha delivered a speech in favour of AP MPs demands in Lok Sabha.
Rahul Gandhi announced his first signature will be on Special Status if UPA forms government. Telangana Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy went a step ahead and informed party tickets will be offered to Andhra Settlers in next elections.
Whereas, Telangana JAC convener Prof.Kodandaram who floated Telangana Jana Samithi recently made it clear Special Status for AP is impossible as it will eventually divert the investments from neighboring states. Instead, He suggested AP Government to seek more funds and projects from the Centre. He also stressed the need for decentralization of development in AP rather than focusing only on Amaravati.
