AP Speaker Must Attend Court On Oct 10th
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Oct 2018 11:48 AM GMTA Special Magistrate Court in Karimnagar ordered AP Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao to appear before it on October 10th. Why is it so?
During an interview to a TV Channel few years ago, Kodela Siva Prasad admitted spending Rs 11.5 crore to win as MLA during 2014 Assembly Polls. A Person by name Bhaskar Reddy moved the court accusing Kodela of violating the norms set by the Election Commission.
The Petitioner argued no candidate is permitted to spend more than the limit set by Election Commission. He questioned from where did Kodela mobilize such huge amount of funds. Earlier, Kodela obtained a stay order from High Court on this case.
As the stay order expired by September, The Court sought the presence of Kodela Siva Prasad for Oct 10th hearing.
