After months of dilly-dallying, Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has announced that he has no intention to leave the Congress Party. This announcement has put a lid on the speculations that Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy is likely to join the BJP in Telangana. The MLA from Munugode is the brother of MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who was one of the strong contenders for the TPCC post.

Ever since the 2019 elections, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has sent clear signals that he is trying to join the BJP. He praised the BJP often and said that only BJP can take on the TRS in Telangana. He talked about the BJP even in press conferences. Many even expected that Komatireddy would join the BJP in the presence of Narendra Modi at Hyderabad during the recent national executive committee meeting.

However, on Monday, he said that there was no question of his leaving the Congress Party. He said that he would never take any decision about his political future without consulting the party workers, supporters and the people of Munugode assembly constituency who have sent him to the assembly.

Komatireddy’s statement is being considered significant as it has come hours after the BJP has formed a committee to lure leaders from other parties into the BJP and Eatala Rajender was made the convener of the committee. It was widely expected that Rajagopala Reddy would join the BJP. But, his latest statement is sure to upset the calculations of the BJP.
