Trouble Doubles For TRS, Sudheer, Surekha Raise In Revolt

Barely a day after KCR announced a list of 105 candidates, dissidence spread like wild fire in the TRS. Those who expected tickets and could not get flew into rage and launched massive protests. Some of the sitting MLAs, who got the tickets, are facing strong protests from the dissidents. Clearly, KCR appears to have not bargained for all this shows of defiances.

In Khammam, party leaders from Burgumpahad have strongly opposed the renomination of sitting MLA Payam Venkateswarlu. They held protests and told the TRS leadership that anyone other than Payam is acceptable for them. In Medchal, sitting MLA Sudheer Reddy has not been renominated as yet. His fate hangs in balance. On Friday, a large number of his supporters staged a protest and demanded that he be renominated. Sudheer Babu said he is hopeful that the party will renominate him. In Godavari Khani, sitting MLA Somarapu Satyanarayana is facing still challenge from ousted municipal chairperson. The biggest shock for the party is that sitting MLA Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Morali are all set to resign from the TRS. They would go back to the Congress on September 12. She will contest from Warangal East while she wants Waragal West for her daughter Susmitha Patel. Konda family's leaving could be a big blow for the party in Warangal district. Already key leader D Srinivas, who could influence the voters in at least two constituencies in Nizamabad district, has left the TRS. He too will join the Congress soon.

So, it's troubling time for KCR and the TRS with those denied seats looking towards either Congress or the BJP.
