The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) that comprises three members chaired a crucial meeting on Friday to discuss the water disputes between the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

It has to be noted that the Irrigation Departments of both states have been at the loggerheads over the past year on the issue related to irrigation and drinking water sharing.

Media reports claimed that earlier Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Irrigation Departments have sought 108 and 95 TMCfts from the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB).

On the other hand, the Telangana Irrigation Department has claimed that it will utilize the unutilized water for its purposes in the next year. However, AP said, it will not accept the argument.

Coming to the Pattiseema lift irrigation, Andhra Pradesh has finally agreed to utilize 18 TMC of water for the project.

After the crucial meeting, the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) officials have announced that they will allot 95 and 83 TMCs to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively.
