Despite Krunal Pandya complaining about the throat pain, the doctor didn't conduct Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) to Krunal. The all-rounder had attended the team meeting too.
When Krunal Pandya was tested positive for the Covid on July 27, the medical officers have found out about the close contacts of Krunal Pandya.
As a result, eight players were asvisee to take the Covid tests. While
Krishnappa Gowtham and Yuzvendra Chahal tested Covid positive, the remaining players were declared negative for the virus.
Carrying out a story on Covid impact on the Sri Lanka series, leading national daily Hindustan Times said Krunal Pandya had followed the protocols by informing his symptoms to the medical officer but the medical officer didn't take the timely measures. The daily had attributed a source from BCCI to these comments.
According to the daily, the BCCI source even expressed shock over the medical team conducting Rapid Antigen Test once in five days while the tests were conducted once in two days.
