Kshatriya Community Shifting Loyalties From YSRCP?

Andhra Pradesh will go for the general elections next year and we can see an intense ballot box battle. The major parties in the state are busy making strategies. The ruling YSRCP wants to record a second consecutive win and the grand old Telugu Desam Party wants to bring back its lost glory.

Stronger communities are going to be crucial for the next elections. We have seen how the parties are trying their best to woo the Kapu community. We are hearing that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would lay the foundation stone for the Kapu Welfare building this month.

Every time we talk about the strong communities in the state, Kapus come to mind. But the Kshatriya community is also a dominant caste in the state and their support would also be a deciding factor in elections. Members of the community are rich and hold good positions.

The Godavari districts are their strong zone and they can impact the winning chances of any party. It is said that the community voted for the YSRCP due to a strong Jagan wave during the 2019 polls hoping that he would develop the state. But things are said to be going oppositely.

The political observers say that the Kshatriya community is reportedly in plans to shift their loyalties from the YCP. Narsapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was targeted by the YSRCP and the party members openly breathed fire on him. They even moved the Speaker against him. The MP alleged that he was mishandled in police custody and sustained serious injuries.

While Raju Garu's issue is one thing, the lack of development in the state is also a key factor that is reportedly making the community shift loyalties from YSRCP. In the internal meetings, the key leaders are talking about this reportedly.

It is said that a section of the community is supporting the Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Vishnu Kumar Raju is serving as the party vice President and for this, some leaders are extending their support to the saffron party.

On the other hand, the community was also strong supporters of TDP. Ashok Gajapathi Raju was well respected by the TDP and he was made the Union Minister for Civil Aviation in the Narendra Modi Government. When he was removed from the post of chairman of the temple trust board, TDP raised its voice for him.

A few members from the community are said to be supporting TDP believing he can lead the state towards growth and development. Moreover, Bharatiya Janata Party State vice-president P. Vishnu Kumar Raju reportedly received a show-cause notice from the leadership. Observers say that the community might move towards the TDP by the time of elections as per the developments.
