How KTR Justified Hyd Metro Charges?
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Jun 2018 2:20 PM GMTMinister KTR interacted with Media on Wednesday regarding the Hyderabad Metro Rail. He informed, 'A detailed report regarding Metro Rail Phase 2 is being prepared and it will be ready by July this year. Upon receiving the report, We will focus on mobilizing financial resources and move ahead. Special concentration is on Hyderabad Airport Connectivity. DPR is under progress and we will have it by August. CM KCR wishes to establish direct connectivity to Airport from all the three metro corridors'.
When a Journalist asked if TRS Government will introduce monthly passes for Metro Rail travel so that those who travel frequently could manage their expenses, KTR replied: 'We would think about it only after Metro Rail is operated with full capacity. It's not right to say charges are high. Compare Metro Rail charges with that of AC Bus tickets and those in other cities. You can't compare Hyd Metro charges with that of 250 km stretch Delhi Metro which was completely sponsored by Government Of India. Whereas, Hyd Metro was done in PPP Model. L&T has to recover half of its investment from the ticket sales itself. So, Comparing with Delhi Metro is like comparing Apples & Oranges'.
