By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Nov 2020 5:02 AM GMTWhen it comes to the matter of the interests of the state, Telangana IT Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao is not the one who minces his words. He provided it yet again.
This time, the Telangana Minister of MA&UD, Industries, and IT&C Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao aka KTR slammed the Centre over the taxes the state received in return for the taxes contributed to the Union government.
He took to the microblogging site Twitter and in a series of tweets, he said over the past six years, the state got only half of the taxes that it has paid to the Central government.
'The people of Telangana should know that since 2014, our state's contribution to Centre in the form of taxes is a whopping ₹2,72,926 Cr whereas what Centre has released to Telangana is ₹1,40,329 Cr! Telangana continues to be a pillar of strength for India,' his Tweet read.
His attack on the Union government after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that the centre has released the due taxes that were to be paid to the Telangana state. KTR even told the leaders who make such claims on the funds to think before speaking.
'Next time before some ignoramuses indulge in chest thumping on how much has been bestowed upon Telangana by Govt of India, think before you speak,' he tweeted.
In his tweet, he attached details of the taxes collected by the center from the state and the taxes the center released to the state of Telangana.
KTR attributed the leadership of Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao's leadership and the progressive policies he brought which helped the state to thrive.
