Many Indian Couples have been in politics and served respectable posts during the same period. There were instances of both Husband & Wife getting elected as MLAs and one of them serving as MLA/Minister while the other one was MP. For the first time ever, Wife of a ruling Chief Minister became an MLA. This first of it's kind development happened because of the recent by-elections in Karnataka.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy's Wife Anitha got elected as MLA in the by-poll of Ramanagara Assembly Constituency. Which means, She will be entering the Assembly when her husband is serving as the Chief Minister.
HD Kumaraswamy and Anitha have the rare opportunity of entering Karnataka Assembly jointly. This is how the couple created history and listed their names in the record books.
Over-whelming result for Congress-JD (S) Government in the by-elections given an indication that BJP won't be able to destabilize it in the near future. It's like a moral victory against the forces who wishes to dethrone HD Kumaraswamy.
