KVP Ramachandra Rao to attend YSR Athmeeya Sammelanam today!
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Sep 2021 8:32 AM GMTYS Vijayamma had made elaborate arrangements for the "Athmeeya Sammelanam" on Thursday in Telangana capital Hyderabad marking the occasion of the 12th death anniversary of YSR, the former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh. The leaders of various political parties in two Telugu states were sent invitations to attend the event.
Congress senior leader and former Rajya Sabha member K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao who is dubbed as the close associate of YSR had finally broken his silence on attending the "Athmeeya Sammelanam' on Thursday.
The ex-Rajya Sabha member had reached the Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of the Telangana wing of Congress party, and addressed the media recently. During his press briefing, he was asked if will attend the meeting or not.
K.V P Ramachandra Rao, aka KVP, said he will attend the event and said he had received the invitation for the same, and YS Vijayamma had invited him for the meeting over the phone. YSR is the people's leader, he said.
The Novotel hotel in the Kondapur area of Hyderabad will host the meeting, which will take place at 5: 30 PM today. The meeting is followed by dinner. All the Covid protocols like wearing facemasks, maintaining social distance will be followed at the meeting.
Leaders hailing from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who have worked in YSR’s cabinet, a few officials, journalists were invited to attend the event. However, the suspense over the attendance of the meeting continues.
Ministers, MLAs, IAS, IPSs, and former Public servants are also said to have received the invitations for the event. A few celebrities in Tollywood were also invited reportedly by YS Vijayamma.
Former Assembly Speaker Suresh Reddy, Komatireddy brothers, and others were also sent invitations for the meeting that will be held to remember the great leader who worked hard for the well-being of the poor during his regime as the Chief Minister.
On the flip side, the meeting has also attracted criticism that the main intention behind conducting the meeting is to use it as a much-needed platform to boost YS Sharmila's political mileage who recently floated her political outfit in Telangana.
