Leader tries to self-immolate after party denies election ticket!
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Jan 2022 8:49 AM GMTWe are all set to witness a high-intense ballot box war in as many as five states. Given the political heat, the political outfits are busy finalizing the candidates to run the elections. The candidates who pinned high hopes on getting election tickets faced a hammer blow to digest the fact that they were not given the party ticket.
However, a tense situation arose in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh when a candidate who could not take the news that he was denied the party ticket tried to take the extreme step. The unhappy leader made a failed attempt to take his life.
Samajwadi Party leader Aditya Thakur is said to have tried to self-immolate by pouring fuel on himself. However, the effort was foiled when the cops who were present at the party office stopped him and failed his attempt. The news had attracted everyone's attention.
Unable to take the news that the party did not consider him as the candidate and the party ticket was denied at the last moment, the senior politician burst into tears. He reportedly expressed his displeasure over the party not considering his services.
Media reports say that another leader from the Bahujan Samaj Party faced a similar situation when the party did not grant him a party ticket even though he paid a sum of Rs 67 lakh for the ticket.
