Leaderless Kavali, rudderless TDP cadre

Kavali was once the TDP citadel. The TDP had continuously won Kavali. But today, the party is leaderless and does not know who would be the next candidate for the 2024 elections. The cadre at present is directionless.
The TDP has already begun the process of identifying the candidate for 2024. Prominent TDP leader Beeda Mastan Rao was the party MLA in 2009.. But he lost in 2014. In 2019, he was made the MP candidate. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, an import from the Congress Party, was made the MLA candidate. Later, Mastan Rao left the TDP to join the ruling YSRCP.
Vishnu Vardhan Reddy became inactive soon after the electoral defeat. He has announced retirement from active politics and has focused on his businesses. As a result, the party has no leader worth the salt to give guidance to the party cadre.
Though Beeda Mastan Rao’s brother and TDP leader Beeda Ravichandra is supervising the party activities in Kavali, he has categorically said that he is not interested in contesting from Kavali. Recently, Chandrababu directed Beeda Ravichandra and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy to look for a suitable incharge for the constituency. Sources say that they have identified a contractor, but the prospective candidate is said to have told them that he would join the TDP just eight months before the election.
So, one Subbu Naidu was temporarily appointed the constituency incharge. However, differences cropped up among the cadre over his appointment. Soon after his swearing in, Vishnuvardhan Reddy came back and announced himself as the party candidate. Now the whole issue has come back to square One
