Leading Companies owe Rs 20,000 crore to Telangana
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 March 2015 2:19 PM GMTIf the reports are to be believed, Leading Companies owe Telangana Government Commercial Tax to the tune of Rs 20,000 since 2002. South Central Railway and Leading Oil Marketing Firms are the biggest defaulters.
A special legal cell has been constituted by the T-Government to recover the Commercial Tax arrears at the earliest. It came to the notice that Rs 12,000 crore out of Rs 20,000 crore have to be recovered from the firms located in Secunderabad Zone itself.
Commercial Tax defaulters list:
South Central Railway- Rs 334 crore
Indian Oil Corporation- Rs 275 crore
Bharat Petroleum Corporation- Rs 157 crore
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation- Rs 36 crore.
Paper Products Ltd - Rs 12 crore
Godrej Consumer Products- Rs 16 crore
Voltas - Rs 6 crore
