Former RJD MP Mohd Shahabuddin sentenced to life imprisonment in sensational 2004 abduction and acid murder case. Shahabuddin and three others found guilty by a special court in connection with the murder case of two brothers 11 years ago in Siwan district of Bihar.

Additional District Judge of Siwan Special Court Ajay Kumar Srivastava pronounced the judgement. While pronouncing the judgement he termed it as the rarest of the rare case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Shahbuddin in the case.

As per the reports Shahabuddin and his men were kidnapped two brothers, Girish Raj and Satish Raj sons of a businessman and drenched them in acid and killed. The sons of one Chandrashekhar Prasad were abducted from their house on August 16, 2004 and taken to a nearby village where acid was poured on resulting in their death.

Shahabuddin was four times Member of Parliament from Siwan, Bihar, with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party of Lalu Prasad Yadav, and 2-time MLA in the Bihar Legislative Assembly Shahabuddin has been in jail for several years in connection with several serious criminal cases. Because of his conviction, he was not permitted to contest in the 2009 general election
