Liquor Sales At Record High On New Year Eve

Alcohol worth Rs 230 crore has been sold out in Andhra Pradesh on the New Year eve. In the liquor outlets in the state, Rs 40 crore worth alcohol has been sold per day on an average. On December 31st alone, The sales have gone up to Rs 230 crore.
Liquor Stock worth Rs 468.29 crore has been shifted from Depots to Shops from December 26th to 31st. This is 12.96 percent more than what it was in 2016. 50 percent of the entire stock shifted to shops from Dec 26th got sold out by 31st itself.
While the Beer Sales has increased, Liquor Sales declined when compared to the last year. In 2016 December, 10,59,960 Liquor Cases and 3,52,540 Beer Cases were sold out. In 2017 December, 9,02,289 Liquor Cases and 4,66,802 Beer Cases have been sold out.
In Krishna and Guntur Districts alone, Rs 102.38 crore of Liquor got sold from Dec 26th to 31st. On 31st of Dec alone, Around Rs 50 crore worth Alcohol has been sold out in Capital region.
