By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Nov 2016 1:54 PM GMTScrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes with immediate effect have affected all the sections due to very minimal or lack of transactions. Even Excise Department which is the highest income earning source for State Government has been facing the heat.
Liquor Sales in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have fallen close to 50 percent in the past five days. Usually, Sales will be high on Weekend as that was the time most of the people get ample time to relax. Post the note ban, There is not much difference between weekdays and weekend.
Especially, The effect was more in rural areas where transactions happen mostly through cash. Liquor Dealers have refused to accept old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes since November 9th. Inspite of demand from the customers, They weren't able to sell though plenty of stock is available. At most places, Drinkers were entertained by the Dealers if they are willing to spend Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes completely without demanding for change.
