BCCI reforms: List of key recommendations made by Lodha Committee

Justice R M Lodha panel which was formed to study the reforms to be made to BCCI on Monday submitted its report to Supreme Court which includes list of key recommendations. The panel has recommended majority changes for greater transparency in the working of the BCCI; world's richest cricket body.

The report was relating to the functioning of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and it will be considered by the bench headed by Chief Justice T S Thakur . Following is the list of recommendations made by the three-member panel headed by Justice Lodha

1. One Association of each state will be full member and have the right to vote
2. Relegation of Railways, Services and Universities as Associate members, they also lose voting rights
3. Separate governing bodies for the IPL and BCCI
4. Limited autonomy for IPL Governing Council
5. Lodha panel proposes the constitution and establishment of a players association
6. A steering committee headed by former Home Secretary G K Pillai with Mohinder Amarnath, Diana Eduljee and Anil Kumble as members
7. Ethics Officer will decide on conflict of interest
8. No BCCI office-bearer can be Minister or government servant
9. No BCCI office-bearer can have more than two consecutive terms
10.No BCCI office-bearer can hold office for more than 3 terms with the rider that there will be a cooling off after each term
11.No BCCI office-bearer can hold two posts at the same time
12.Legalization of betting
13.A clean chit to IPL CEO Sundar Raman.

The same committee had suggested suspension of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years from participating in IPL.
