Usually, Farmers receive insurance from Banks whenever the crops were damaged due to Nature's Fury. Sadly, This time they couldn't claim insurance just because of the Farm Loan Waiver.
Bankers have made it clear Farmers who lost their crops due to Hudhud cyclone willn't be receiving any insurance this time as their loans haven't been renewed until now. They even appealed farmers to clear the debts as early as possible for future benefits.
Farm Loan Waiver was the trump card of TDP in recent General Elections. This poll sop costs the state exchequer to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore. Few days ago, Chandrababu assured to the farmers that first installment of Farm Loan Waiver will be paid to Banks by Diwali and the rest will be cleared in 4 installments. He also promised to pay interest for the delay loan payment.
Hudhud Cyclone impact will fall on the first installment of farm loan waiver as well. That's really a death blow for AP Farmers!
