Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the nation in the ake of the earlier announced lockdown coming to an end at midnight of today and said that the lockdown will be extended to the 3rd of May as the positive cases in the country are not coming down.

"In case of any positive development in any particular area or district, we can give a conditional concession from April 20. In case of any violation, development of any new hotspots, that concession will be rolled back in those area."

"Till 20th April, all districts, localities, states will be closely monitored, as to how strictly they are implementing norms. States which will not let hotspots increase, they could be allowed to let some important activities resume, but with certain conditions," Modi added.
