Will Extending Lockdown Help India To Combat COVID-19?

As the second phase of lockdown was imposed in India the Centre has issued guidelines and cited that some exceptions will be given to some industries to ease their functioning but there is no further update on this.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold a teleconference with the CM's of all the states to take a call on the lockdown.
In the wake of this, a foreign journal which is covering the situation in India with the outbreak of coronavirus advised that it is good if India observed lockdown for 10 more weeks.
The journal cited the example of China which managed to get the condition under control by imposing the lockdown for 70 days. The situation in China became so normal that Wuhan from where the virus was originated saw a rise of applications for marriages by more than 75%.
