Lockdown Updates: E-mail Extortion Rises In Hyderabad

Following the lockdown measures, Email-extorsion cases in the last three weeks increased at once in Hyderabad. Around eight victims have approached the City Cyber Crime police in this regard.
Cybercriminals have approached the victims and threatened that they were visiting the Pornography websites and demanded money from the victims or else they will leak the same information.
The official data reveals that the traffic for porn websites increased a lot with the lockdown imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak Indians are the biggest consumers of the porn site Porn Hub.
Despite the telecoms banning the websites, Indians are visiting the website via mirror domains and VPN resulting in the rise of usage by 35%.
With the rise of the Cyber Crime cases, Cyber police asked the public to not panic about the situation and report to the police whenever they face any such problems. Cyberpolice also asked people to change the passwords for their E-mails.
