Lockdown updates: Liquor Shops To Be Reopened?

Following the deadly outbreak of the novel coronavirus in India, the lockdown was imposed across the nation which has now entered the second phase which is expected to end by the 3rd of May.
As a result, all the liquor shops in many states were shut so that people will stop gathering at the alcohol shops in large numbers. This led the liquor lovers to go crazy with the unavailability of liquor.
Now the Maharashtra state Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that liquor shops should not be closed in the state if social distancing measures are followed at the liquor shops.
"Although liquor shops are not included in the list of exemptions from lockdown, the final decision will be announced only after strict regulations are prepared," Rajesh Tope said.
"If social distancing is properly maintained, there should not be any ban on liquor shops," Tope added.
