Loyal YSRCP sarpanch quits party, commission in Piler

He may be an ordinary sarpanch. But, his influence stretches far and wide. He is such a well-known face in the YSRCP that his resignation from the party is the talk of the town. There is consternation among the people of the Piler assembly constituency. The video he released while leaving the YSRCP has gone viral on social media.
Kaligiri panchayat sarpanch Reddyvari Pratap Kumar Reddy has resigned from the YSRCP due to his differences with Pileru MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy. Pratap Kumar was among the six sarpanches who secured the highest majority in the recent sarpanch elections. His family is known for its fight with the Nallari family for over 40 years. In fact, the support of Pratap Kumar is said to be crucial for the victory of Chintala Ramachandra reddy.
But, of late, differences cropped up between Pratap Kumar and Chintala. The MLA began edging out the sarpanch. Pratap is said to have donated his own land to set up the statue of YSR in his village. But , he has alleged that the MLA has put spokes in his being elected as the MPP. He said the MLAâs henchmen had pushed him out of the meeting hall.
According to sources, there is a lot of sympathy among the people for Pratap Kumar, who has a known record of working for the party and the YSR family. Several local leaders have slammed the MLA for edging out the loyal party man.
