Maha CM responds to Fire mishap in Covid19 hospital, seeks forgiveness

The financial capital of India, Mumbai woke up to an unfortunate incident of a fire mishap at a Covid-19 hospital inside a Shopping Mall. The patients in the facility were rushed to another hospital.
Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had reacted to the sad incident and requested the kin of the victims who lost their lives to forgive him. A compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the families of the victims of the fire mishap, he said.
The Chief Minister spoke to the media and lauded the efforts of firefighters, who rushed to the spot and rescued the patients. But the patients on ventilators could not be saved. I seek forgiveness from the kin of the deceased, he said.
As per the preliminary reports, the fire broke out at a shop in the shopping mall and not at the Covid-19 hospital. Whoever is responsible for this mishap will not be spared, he said.
The fire broke out at around 12.30 am. The authorities swung into action and called for 22 fire-engines to bring the fire under control. Nearly 70 patients of Covid-19 were rescued and shifted to another hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is currently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh took to Twitter to express his pain over the incident. "Pained by the loss of lives due to a fire at a hospital in Mumbai. I pray that the injured recover soon," PMO tweeted.
