After more than 2 decades of wait, Faridkot Maharaja's Daughters were permitted by the court to inherit the properties worth Rs 20,000 crore, including the Faridkot House in New Delhi, two forts one each in Faridkot & Mani Majra, a royal palace, vintage cars, an aerodrome, properties in Hyderabad & Delhi, Jwellery, Rs 1,000 crore with Bank and many more.

The battle for assets began in the year 1992 when daughter of Maharaja Amrit Kaur approached the court alleging the will was forged by officials and and servants when the his father was in depression. On Sunday, the court opined that the '1981 Will' was forged and fabricated. The judgment allows Amrit Kaur and her sister Deepinder Kaur to inherit all the properties of the erstwhile ruler.

Maharaja Harinder Singh Brar had a son and three daughters. His son died in a road accident in 1981 and after this incident Brar went into depression. The third daughter died in the year 2001 in Simla under mysterious circumstances.
