Maharashtra Crisis: BJP Implementing One Shot Two Birds Strategy?

A lot of drama and suspense is going on in Maharashtra. The ongoing developments in the state hint that the MVA government might get toppled as the rebel leaders are not in touch with the government. The Maharashtra government is facing a big crisis now. The rebel leaders are in touch with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Things were not going well with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance due to the contrasting ideologies of the three parties. In various instances, the differences popped up. But the recent Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections made the rebels raise their voices against the party.
A Cabinet Minister and his supporters reportedly moved out of Maharashtra and this made many think that the BJP which already has good strength in the Maharashtra Assembly might go together with the rebel leaders and form government in the state. Adding file to this, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut said in a tweet made in Marathi that the developments lead to the dissolution of the assembly
Those who are aware of the politics say that the ongoing Maharashtra situation is a payback from the BJP for the treatment it faced from the grand old Congress back in 1995. Similar developments took place in the BJP's stronghold back then.
In the 1995 Gujarat elections, BJP had won the elections with a good majority. However, senior BJP leader Shankersinh Vaghela turned rebel and along with his supporters, toppled the government unhappy with missing the Chief Minister post. Later, he joined the Congress party and dissolved his party in the Congress party.
Two years after this, Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government in Gujarat and since then there is no looking back for the saffron party and the state became the stronghold of the BJP.
Political observers say that BJP wants to give a return gift to Congress for the 1995 row and also wants to teach a strong lesson to Shiv Sena for preferring Congress over the party to form the government. After the polls, Shiv Sena was adamant that Uddhav Thackeray should be made the Chief Minister. BJP said no to this and both parties parted ways.
