Following the violent standoff with the Chinese troops and growing demand for boycott Chinese products, the Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Uddahv Thackeray kept three mega agreements on hold that were signed with the Chinese companies.

These major agreements were signed at the Maharashtra 2.0 investor meet. These projects are worth Rs 5000 crore.

Talking about the same, industries minister Subhash Desai said that the government took this bold move after consulting the Central government and maintained that these three deals were signed before the Indo-China standoff.

The Minister added that the Ministry of External Affairs urged the state government to not sign any agreements or deals with the Chinese groups hereafter.

The major deals which were put on hold include, MOU with the Great Wall Motors to establish an automobile manufacturing unit worth Rs 3,770 crore and a partnership deal with the PMI Electro Mobility worth Rs 1,000 crore.

The third deal is the expansion plans in Pune signed with the Henglu Engineering worth Rs 250-crore.
