Bhagat Singh Koshyari who is the governor of Maharashtra made the controversial comments claiming that "Mumbai will have no money" has led to a huge controversy that Chief Minister Eknath Shindy was forced to say that he disagrees with what the governor stated. The opposition parties are even demanding the governor to give an apology for her sensational statements.

Going into the details, Koshyari said, "I tell people here that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are removed from Maharashtra, especially from Mumbai and Thane, you will be left with no money and Mumbai will not be a financial capital." He made these comments on Friday during the naming function of a chowk (intersection) in the Andheri region.

They went viral instantly, Koshyari has come out on Saturday claiming that his words were misconstructed and requested the political parties to not turn into a controversy unnecessarily. He said that he did not mean to belittle the Marathi community and added, "lauding one community does not mean insulting another.''

Shiv Sena party leaders were triggered by the governor's statements and starting from Udhav Thackery to MP Sanjay Raut, many party members condemned the words said by the governor.
