Maharashtra Straightaway Reported 5000 Cases

The situation in the state reached an alarming level that Pune city alone has over 20,000 cases which is more than many states in the country. This gives us a clear picture of the virus spread.
The rapid growth of the casualties is also ringing the danger bells as 181 fresh casualties reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total toll of the fatalities of the disease in the state to 7,610.
The state which has been reported the highest surge of single-day cases every other day currently has 1,69,883 infections. While 88,960 patients managed to recover from the virus so far, the active cases stood at 73298.
Given the prevailing situations, Maharashtra government led by CM Uddhav Thackeray decided to extend the lockout in the state till the 31st of July.
