How Sex Workers helped Chennai flood victims?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 Dec 2015 12:08 PM GMTSex Workers from Maharashtra proved humanity matters the most but not the profession one does. Nearly 2,000 sex workers from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra contributed Rs 1 lakh to Tamil Nadu CM flood relief fund. All they did was contributing a portion of their savings and surviving on a single meal for a day to raise the money.
The sex workers handed over the cheque of Rs 1 lakh to District Collector Anil Kawade at an event organized by NGO Snehalaya on December 7th. Girish Kulkarni, the founder of the NGO, sex workers were concerned about the residents of Chennai ever since they came to know about the natural disaster and decided to help in whatever way they can.
People from all walks of life have voluntarily come forward to help Chennai flood victims. That's a sign of unity among the people of various religions & castes. Even there is a good positive to notice after the unprecedented floods.
