Maharshi Price Hike - Talasani To Move HC?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 May 2019 9:49 AM GMTTelangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav called for an emergency review meeting with Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Law Secretary to discuss about the 'Maharshi' ticket price hike issue.
Talasani questioned how could the Makers of 'Maharshi' hike the ticket prices without consulting and obtaining the permission of Telangana Government. He is seriously considering the option of filing a petition in High Court challenging the ticket price hike. 'State Government hasn't given permission for Ticket Price Hike. We might file a petition in the High Court. Government has to take the decision on ticket pricing. Common Man could watch the films only if the ticket rates are nominal. Our Government don't have any intention to trouble the public with high ticket pricing. We had constituted a committee to finalise the ticket pricing. The report was sent to the Cabinet for approval but it got delayed due to the elections. It came to our notice that 79 Theatres had increased ticket rates. We would take legal action against them,' informed the Minister.
On the other hand, Theatre Owners have been claimed they hiked the ticket prices as per the earlier order issued by the High Court. While Single Screens in Hyderabad have been charging Rs 110 per ticket, Multiplexes preferred a pricing of Rs 200 per ticket for 'Maharshi'.
