Tension gripped California state in the United States after a group of unidentified men have vandalised the bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi aka Bapuji located in a park.
Going into detail, the 6-ft tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Central Park in Davos city was vandalized by miscreants, who have sawed off the ankles of the statue which weighs nearly 294 kg.
The news broke out after an employee of the park has found out that the statue was ripped from the base. The employee informed the same to the police.
According to the local media, the statue of Mahatma Gandhi was severely damaged in the attack. The face part of the statue was reportedly missing.
After the news broke out, the concerned swung into action and removed the damaged statue to a safe place. They said the new statue of Mahatma Gandhi will be kept in place very soon.
The cops have registered a case and the investigation is underway. The investigating teams are putting in their efforts to know the motive behind the vandalization.
