Statue Vandalism: Gandhi Also Not Spared

It is known that local BJP cadre in Tripura defiled the statues of Lenin while they were celebrating their victory in the assembly elections. As the state governor and some central ministers supported them, the BJP workers defiled Dravidian movement founder Periyar statue in Tamil Nadu
In revenge for these developments, Left party workers have defiled Jana Sangh founder Shyam Prasad Mukherjee statue in Kolkata. On the other hand, Ambedkar statue was vandalised by upper caste persons in Meerut, UP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his anger on these developments and asked home minister Rajnath Singh to take strict measures to control the vandalism of statues. But still, the vandalism is continuing.
In the latest development, some unknown persons have partially damaged Mahatma Gandhi statue in Kerala. Local media reported that the incident took place in Taliparamba Taluk office in Kannur district. The incident reportedly took place around 7 am. Police have already started investigating the case.
In another incident, some unknown persons have hurled petrol bombs on BJP office in Coimbatore. No one injured in the attack. Police revealed that three suspects in the attack case have surrendered themselves to the police. The police have arrested them later. There are doubts that this is a revenge attack for damaging Periyar statue in Vellore Municipal office. Police have revealed that the three persons who surrendered themselves belong to Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam(TPDK).
In another incident, four Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) workers have cut the sacred threads of 8 people who were walking bare-chested on the Nallathambi Road in Mylapore, Chennai. They have surrendered themselves before the police later. BJP National secretary H. Raja's Facebook comments on the vandalism of Lenin statue in Tripura has lead to these developments according to the reports. Raja has removed those comments from his FB and he has revealed that the staff who is handling his Facebook account has posted those comments.
Many parties have conducted rallies against H. Raja in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan responded to these developments by saying that Periyar statue was vandalised to shift the focus of people from Kaveri water issue.
