The protagonists in all of Sukumar's films have some sort of psychological problem. Even in his recent flick 1 - Nenokkadine, Mahesh Babu was seen as a Rockstar with Integration Disorder.
Ask him why he prefers such unusual storyline, Sukumar admits he can't do regular masala films as they make him go restless the moment he starts doing them.
Sukumar also reveals he is suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). He is obsessed with numbers and till few years ago he was obsessed with even numbers. He used to prefer only even numbers, even while watching TV Channels. He tried to change that habit by switching to odd numbers. Surprisingly, He is now obsessed with odd numbers. Another note-worthy aspect about Sukumar is that he tend to most of the things twice.
The idea of 'ONE' took birth when Sukumar listened to the discussion between his associate and a friend about psychological disorder. With Mahesh Babu keen to work with him, Sukumar developed into a full-fledged story with huge canvas.
