Ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, the main accused in the murder case of African American man George Floyd was released from the jail after a local court granted him the bail.

Some media reports claimed that the former US Police Officer was granted bail on a personal bond of $1m (£774,000).

George Floyd's death kickstarted widespread protests across the United States and the protestors raised their voice against the killing of a black man. The protestors held placards with Black Lives Matter written on it, during the protests.

A video of Derk Chauvin, pressing his knee on the victim's neck for nearly eight minutes, which created suffocation for Floyd took the social media like a storm, and the public across the nation called for a protest.

Following this, all the four accused officers, Derek Chauvin, J Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao were expelled from their jobs. They are awaiting the court trials in this case.

The main accused Chauvin is facing the charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter, while the remaining trio was facing the charges of aiding and abetting murder.
