Man Survives Despite Heart Stopping For 50 Minutes

Patel, who is a businessman admitted in hospital with severe heart stroke. Doctors have performedprolonged CPR and the patient underwent 100 chest compressions to revive his stopped heart. Doctors gave him 100 compressions before undergoing an emergency angioplasty.
Interestingly, the doctors who treated Patel, coordinated the through the messaging service WhatsApp and over the phone.Recalling the incident Dr Ashish Saxena who initially treated patient said that when the patient was taken to hospital, his heart had stopped beating. It was only after chest compressions and electric shocks for 50 minutes that his heart revived.
"The patient even slipped into a coma and chances of his brain revival were lowered because blood was not reaching his brain. However, the patient's heart later revived and blood flow to his brain was restored" He added. The patient was discharged from hospital last week.
