By: Tupaki Desk | 11 July 2021 10:02 AM GMTThat Manickam Tagore, the Congress party affairs incharge for Telangana is a no-nonsense man is well-known. He is known to have put several senior leaders in their places. On one occasion, he asked a senior Congress leader, who flaunts his closeness to Sonia Gandhi family, to leave a meeting as he was not among the invitees.
So, when LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy, who won on Congress ticket and later defected to the TRS, accused Tagore of taking Rs 25 corre to make Revanth Reddy the Pradesh Congress Committee, he was not ready to take it lying down. He took this allegation very seriously and slapped a notice on Sudheer Reddy. Tagore said that Sudheer Reddy reddy’s comments have caused him deep hurt and unbearable pain. Hence he demanded that Reddy offer a written apology to him within a week of receiving the notice. In the event of not apologizing, Reddy should face the legal consequences for his action, Tagore said.
Tagore’s counsel R Ravindran has sent the notices to Sudheer Reddy to this effect. He said is no apology is forthcoming from Reddy, then he should be prepared to face a defamation suit for Rs 1 crore.
Incidentally, some Congressmen too leveled similar allegations. They said that hefty sums changed hands to make Revanth Reddy the Telangana PCC chief. Incidentally, Tagore has not filed any case against them. He had targeted Reddy only because he has changed the political party.
