CBI Today informed the Special Court that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was no way involved in the conspiracy in allocation of coal blacks to Jindal Group.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda moved a petition seeking summoning of Ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Two Others as additional accused in the coal scam case. During the hearing of the plea, Special Public Prosecutor RS Cheema informed the court that the records of the case suggest that then Prime Minister, who is also a Coal Minister, wasn't part of the conspiracy. He argued the petition filed one of the accused is only intended to delay the present trail and also deviate the court from the case. He told that Court CBI didn't find an reason to summon Manmohan Singh after conducting a comprehensive probe.

After hearing the arguments, The Special Court reserved its order on Madhu Koda's plea for October 6th.

The Coal Scam is related to the alleged irregularities in the allotment of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block to Jindal group firms, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL).
