Haryana CM Khattar Shocks Everyone By Speaking In Tamil

Even as a controversy is raging over the allegations of Hindi domination over South India, Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar has surprised everyone by speaking in flawless Tamil during an interview to Tamil TV channel Thanthi TV. Even as the TV show host was asking questions in English, Khattar replied in Tamil, initially in monosyllables, then in longish sentences.
Not many know that Khattar has passed second level Tamil examinations conducted through the distance mode. Also, he stayed in Tamil Nadu for a month while he was an RSS pracharak and took fancy to Tamil language. He refurbished the language during that time, he told the interviewer. He told the TV channel that he was in constant touch with the Tamil Sangam of Chandigarh and used to attend their programmes regularly. That's he remained in touch with Tamil, he said.
It is interesting to note that Tamil was the second language at the school level in Haryana till recently. It was only after Bhupinder Hooda became the CM that Tamil was removed and Punjabi was brought in.
