Maya, Mamta, Akhilesh Spurn Chandrababu's Meet offer
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 May 2019 8:58 AM GMTNow it's clear as day light that the much-touted and much-publicised 22-party meeting to chose non-BJP prime minister is not going to happen. The main proponent and publicist-in-chief for the May 20 meet, Chandrababu Naidu has got a snub from every party that matters.
He went to Mamta Didi only to get rejected. Mamta didi did not like the idea and said she would not be partof it. She told him plain and frank that he should first wait till the results of the elections are out to take a call on who should be the next PM. After that, he tried to approach Mayawati and Akhilesh. Both said there was no need for such a meeting. Both feel that Chandrababu is actually canvassing for Rahul Gandhi as prime minister. Both the UP leaders feel that they are better Prime Ministerial candidates than Rahul Gandhi. Mayawati rejected the idea outright. Akhilesh asked what was the use of such meetings before the results are out.
So, Chandrababu's attempts to project himself as a king maker and a master strategist have fallen flat. There are no takers for his ides. All the publicity hype he had created has also failed badly. He wanted to project himself as the pivot for the 22 party unity efforts. But, none seemed to be excited about this idea. But, Chandrababu being Chandrababu, he is reportedly still trying to get the parties on board before the elections.
