Media Worst Hit by Corona

Who is the worst hit by the Corona virus? More than the patients, doctors, nurses and transport, it is the media, which is the worst hit. The media houses are hit by transport restrictions and coverage-related problems.
The biggest problem is for the print media, which depends on the supply of newsprint from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. With the newsprint lorries stopped at the inter-state border, the newspapers are finding it difficult to print the newspapers. Already Andhra Bhoomi daily has declared lockdown till March 31, while Andhra Jyothi daily has cut down on the number of pages. Even Deccan Chronicle is doing this. But, more than all these is the problem of distribution of the news papers. Even if the printed papers reach the newspaper agent, the paper boys are not willing to distribute them. In many colonies, the paper boys are not being allowed in. As a result, most Telugu and English newspapers are planning to cut down the print order.
"More newspapers might temporarily close down in the coming days. Even the papers that are functioning are working on shifts and on alternative days. They are working on half strength," said a senior media hand.
