Attacks and harassment against women are the sad reality of society. Even education cannot change the mindset of men and women face harassment from educated people as well. The harassment even reached the workplace and working women go through a toxic environment. Sadly, education cannot change the scenario.
As the workplace has both men and women working together, there are a few instances where women employees became the target of harassment. Now men who used certain language praising women should be careful as the language they use might land them in jail. A court made some sensational comments in this regard.
Two men working in a real estate company praised their fellow employee saying that she had a good figure. The victim works as a front office executive. After this, they even asked her out. The woman did not like it and approached the cops. The two accused are booked for charges of sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of the woman. The two accused moved the Mumbai sessions court seeking directives to get an anticipatory bail.
But the court shocked them and rejected the pleas. On top of this, the court expressed dissatisfaction with the comments they used and even said that interrogating the accused is required in this.
Many say that what the court said is a landmark one and men will be careful in the words they use with women and if not they will be put behind bars for this. Hope women will be safe from now on.
